The London Aquatics Centre was originally designed by world-renowned, award-winning architect Zaha Hadid for London 2012 Olympics. A key location for the Olympics and Paralympics, it hosted all the aquatic disciplines and provided a breathtaking backdrop to countless world records.
This world-class venue was transformed after the Games, and re-opened to the public in March 2014 and is now a vibrant and accessible facility open to the whole community and is operated by Everyone Active.
The centre houses two 50m Olympic sized pools, as well as a dedicated dive pool with diving springboards and platforms. There is also a 100-station gym boasting all the latest equiptment, group exercise classes and a cafe.
The diving pool is often used for coaching, teaching and instructed courses and is configured for competition level diving:
- Platforms at 1m, 3m, 5m, 7.5m and 10m
- Four 1m springboards
- Three 3m springboards
- State of the art dry-land training facility with trampoline, springboards, foam pits and harness.
The seating capacity of the venue is now 2,800, with an additional 1,000 available for major events. The centre regularly hosts International, National and Regional aquatics competitions and in May 2019 hosted the last leg of the FINA World Diving Series.
